PORT Adelaide and the AFL have flatly rejected the prospect of the South Australian club relocating to Tasmania.

It was reported on Monday by Adelaide radio station FiveAA that the soon to commence Senate Inquiry into the establishment of an AFL team for Tasmania will consider three options, including the relocation of the Power from Adelaide to the Apple Isle.

The media wil do anything to sell a story....so it wouldn't surprise me...if this was just media controversy and lies to stir the pot.

Kev, I can't see it happening not while the hawks have made it their second home ground. If anyone was going to go there it would be Hawthorn as they already have a supporter base there, however, that will only happen if / when the hawks finish near the bottom of the ladder consistently.



With the Tassie football league pushing hard for their own team in the AFL, that could be what keeps the hawks in Melbourne. My opinion is, Tassie should get their own team, and the other Sydney team should have been the first Tassie team.

when i herd about this i was like this is the best day of my life as then Power wont be shame of South Australia instead it would be Tasmania oh and they prob have more members than wat the do in Adelaide.



I think this is just another rumor but from what i have read if the 3 scenarios are possible i think the most likely one that would happen is the New team

Definitely won't happen. There wouldn't be any more Showdowns and as someone said, Port has way too much history in South Australia.

Nah it won't happen. If they're gonna move a team, it will be North Melbourne.



Port has too much history in SA and the Pollies and general public won't let it happen. I heard something like this about Collingwood moving to Western Sydney. NO CHANCE.

That just isnt right, port adelaide are called PORT ADELAIDE,

their fan base is there, its their home.
