Who would you rather in your team Travis Cloke or Tom Hawkins?

In my opinion these two players are two of the most overated in the comp. All they ever get is PRAISE from the commentators it just sh*ts me up the wall.

For instance @ the all- australian night Hawkins won some "tough guy award for ONE smother when he had not done SH*T all for the whole year.

And as for Travis Cloke all Collingwood supporters have been talking about for the past 2 years is this guy and how good he is. I have never rated him..... and i cannot understand what goes through his head when he lines up for goals..... he NEEDS TO desperately work in his goalkicking because at the moment an under 15 could kick better than him.

The only reason i chose Hawkins is because he is younger. At this point i still dont rate him at all. And i will tip him to go missing completely in the Grand Final.

And insterestingly I agree with you, but I think Hawkins will come good in time. He's massively built for a kid, but he needs consistency and a decent kick for goal on him.

What would make travis cloke want to go from essentially one of the best teams in the league to literally the worst team in the league ATM? I get the feeling cloke plays for the team and winning more so than personal glory. He likes when he plays well but he also shows a great deal of emotion when he helps the pies win. I think he will re-sign. Media are making a big deal over nothing. Every side would "want" cloke if they had the option. The media is just amping up Melbournes interest

The only thing we talk about is Travis Cloke? He has something that hardly any player has in the AFL a overhead marking ability that can always prevail. He has extremely bad kicking at the moment but look at Richo he still can't kick.



Hawkins is good but what does his age have to do with it. Hawkins gets praised because he is in a team above nearly everyone. At least cloke has some strength in contests hawkins is a lead up player. And Hawkins gets way over pumped in each game. I mean come on he gets a tackle after the guys kicked it and a smother against a player with 5 opposition players around him and he is called a star. Hawkins i'd rather not have he just isn't my kinda footy player. Where i see cloke better for one simple fact that he can mark strongly overhead 9 times out of 10. And not cuase i go for pies.

I love Travis Cloke to death, but I would prefer Tom Hawkins. In the second half of the season he has really turned it up and been in sensational form. Form that I would love and see well fitting into my team.

I understand what your saying...I'd pick Hawkins over that hack Cloke any day. Hawkins for whatever reason is taking his time to develop but lately he is starting to put it far more consistent efforts. If he gets it right he could be a star forward

LOL... its funny that you're saying things like "oh he's done sh*t all for the whole year" and oh "I cannot understand what goes through his head infront of goals" when you don't even play AFL yourself... its easy to say that you'd be good infront of a fricken TV screen but I'd like to see you actually get out on the G and perform better than they do (you wouldn't by the way)



Anyway, gonna go with Tom. He can take a mark, tackles well, is improving infront of goal and works hard for the team.

I never rate Trav Cloke as even passably good. He's one of the most inaccurate kicks for goal, and I groan everytime he's in front of goal for us. But that doesn't mean he won't get better. He's not even into his prime yet, I think he's just 22 or something.



I would stick with Trav Cloke though, since I've seen him at his near best.. and his best is WAY better than what he's doing now.

Cloke was an over rated player in U/10s at Ainslie in Canberra and he hasn't changed.



Robert Walls loves the "Tomahawk" - The Cats would win by mcuh further if they had proper full forwards instead of Hawkins and Mooney.

In a pinch.. Tomahawk, because he has a lot more development potential than Cloke - evidenced by his strong effort v Pies in the prelim. he needs to be more consistent though, particularly in his marking around the ground and needs to hold his feet at the stoppages.
