having left his long suffering poor old dad to face the media when he went to the usa, being an associate of the well known, underworld drug and prostitution king, jon kizon, also present at the metro nightclub shooting incident with kizon, cocksucking cowboy troy mercanti, being a self confessed drug user AND the last person to see MAINEY(chris mainwaring) alive before he died of a drug overdose, I just think he hasn't yet faced his demons and should be a real man for a change, STAND TALL and take responsibility first, then maybe, he could be made to make amends by coaching juniors but allowed back on the field, NO WAY, JOSE'

OK, super pav, he was never CAUGHT. He confessed to having a problem. Why do you think the AFL loves West Coast? Please elaborate on that one for me. As for whether Ben should be allowed to play again, as long as he is clean and remains clean then why not? There are many other players in the AFL playing now who have tested positive for drugs once or twice - we just don't know who most of them are! I have even been told that one very high profile player has had his 3rd strike but the AFL have covered it up as they don't want any more negative publicity. If Ben was just a normal guy on the street, would you be so hard on him getting another job? Geez, I hope some of you out there are wearing your crash helmets and other padding as you will hurt yourselves jumping on & off the Ben Cousins bandwagon so much!! ("He's coming to our team - great" "He's not coming anymore - oh well, he would be too much trouble anyway"). Would I want him to come and play for West Coast? No - but only because of the sanctions placed on the Eagles by the AFL. They have no expiry date and they make the sanctions imposed on Carlton for rorting the salary cap look like a slap on the wrist. But in my heart, I would love to see him finish his career with West Coast.

Yes. If he is passed by AFL medical staff.

But I do see your point about his behaviour -other than his drug behaviour.

The Mainwaring incident; his association with the bikie & criminal element in Perth is well known locally. That is why he will never again play for ther Eagles. That is why Michael Gardiner was sacked by the club.

However, I feel if he has cleaned up his act, & another club wants to risk him - then he should be allowed to go for it.

Before you condemn Ben Cousins you might like to contemplate the fact that he confessed to taking drugs, despite never testing positive unlike all those in the system that Andrew Demetriou admitted who have also tested positive for drugs but have neither been named or stopped from playing in the AFL. You then might like reconsider just who is the tosser.

if he is clean - sure he should be allowed to play. We can only imagine what it would be like to try to overcome his problems with such public scrutiny. He has done the "crime" and he has done the time (Almost). His poor old dad has done what many poor old dads would do and stand by his son who has an illness.

(And, let me get this straight, after all you said in your first 7 lines, you want him to make ammends by coaching the kiddies?? Hmmmm that smacks of hypocracy to me....)

EDIT: All the girls?? Quite obviously you know zero about addiction.

Another girls opinion here. I don't find him that good looking, a little too pretty for me.

I still think he has a lot to offer the AFL.

Everybody deserves chances.

Let him prove he can do it, if he can't then get rid of him.

Firstly what did he ever do to you?

and secondly he is not a tossa!

Lastly, he shouldn't have been sacked by wce in the first place, so he has every right to come back and do what his good at, and boy he is a great football. Go Benny!! we will back ya!

i reckon he should be able to play

after all, tehre are those 11 players that had been druggies adn they are playing

if he is clean and everything i think he should

he is such a great player and it would be a shame to like let that go 2 waste if you know what i mean

**As a female I totally agree with what you've said except about Ben being able to coach juniors to make amends. I wouldn't want him coaching any kid of mine.

I don't think Ben Cousins is very remorseful for what he's done.

I think any club that takes him is setting itself up for possible trouble down the track and I will have no sympathy for them if that happens.

I don't care how fit Cousins may be, I'd HATE him to go to my club.

Ben needs to move on with his life and realise that he's had his chances at AFL and threw them all away.**
