Question:
How many AFL supporters are actually going to the NSW vs Queensland game, Wednesday 3rd june ?

I'm just curious to see if the Melbourne crowd will turn up in large numbers or not. After all, State of Origin is the highest level of Rugby League being played in the world today ( even better than the international test matches ) and would normally be played in NSW or Queensland. If there was ever a chance to watch the best Rugby League has to offer, this would be it.

if I lived in Melbourne I would love to go an experience a State of Origin RL match (I am a Perth girl). Although I think the experience would be better in either NSW or QLD atmosphere wise.

I must stress I know zip about the game its self and i would know very few of the players, but these matches get such a big buildup, it would be good to go along. Oh well, maybe one day we'll move east and get to go!!

QLD by plenty, 20 +, The publicity for this game in Melbourne has been non existent, even last weeks round of NRL was ignored because the Storm had a bye, no preview of the games in the Herald Sun and virtually no report on Monday, apart from the scores which were buried next to the club golf results. Games 1 and 2 had plenty of hype but 3 has snuck under the radar, is this the case in NSW and QLD.

Yeah...no, I'm not going. But in saying that, I hope the maroons win, stick it up New South Wales ha ha!!!!

Melbourne is in the east coast LOL, I think you mean not just north-eastern. Making it more national like the new Gold Coast AFL team, smart thinking.

Just because of this, don't think that Rugby league will be Australia's national game because that's aussie rules.

ps: AFL fans aren't just Melburnians, also Tasmanians (ones with 2 heads), West Aussies, South Aussies, Northern Aussies & some queenslanders and new south welshmen)

No-one here even likes it, that's if they even know what it is.

As a Melbournian, I can assure you that we love to watch ANY type of sport, however Im a bit skeptical that it will draw huge crowds since its two interstate teams (no Melb team involved). Im sure Melb Storm supporters will turn up since they are the only rugby fans in this state.

Why is it being held in Melb anyways? Is it due to the league wanting it played on neutral territory?

Should get a packed house, Melbournians always turn up for sporting occassions.

Too bad they'll all be against NSW
